  • Presenting Complex Cases in Court
  • Caribbean Policing

Paul Weall spent ten years as senior police staff investigator in digital forensics at West Midlands Police, winning a number of awards for his work.

He examined all types of digital devices, computers, tablets, phones, cameras, many linked to major criminal activities across a wide range of cases including homicides and drugs. He was involved with approximately 500-600 cases and helped the unit win the international POLCYB award.

Paul has a reputation for presenting digital evidence in an understandable way, appearing regularly in magistrates and crown courts.
From 2011 he spent over a year with the Bermuda police service, for much of the time as the only digital forensic expert on the island.

He developed an expertise in examining sat. nav. devices which led to a company providing software and training to the digital forensic community. Since returning to the UK he has acted as an independent digital expert for both prosecution and defence. He is also on the National Crime Agency expert advisors list for his experience as the UK’s expert on satellite navigation forensics. He has advised writers on the possibilities – and limitations – of technology in crime.
